Roman was a Vice-President of General Electric Company and the President & CEO of GE Capital Solutions Europe, a business operating in fifteen countries with some 5,000 employees and assets of approximately $25 Billion. Roman joined GE in 1993 when it acquired National Bank Leasing Canada where Roman had served as President & CEO since 1988. Roman led a reverse integration of the GE Capital Canada Commercial Equipment Financing business into his organization. During the ensuing years, Roman and his team significantly grew the business, dramatically improving revenues, operating costs and ROE. Roman previously worked at the Royal Bank of Canada in a variety of managerial positions providing him with experience in acquisitions and major change projects.

During his career at GE, Roman was involved with several acquisitions through the strategic review, due diligence, board approval, negotiation and integration phases. An excellent strategist, he has also developed strong skills to manage and integrate businesses in a multi-country and multi-cultural environment.

Since retiring from GE in 2010 Roman has joined HEC Montreal as an adjunct professor and also acts as an advisor to companies.

Roman studied at McGill University where he obtained his B.Com in Marketing and International Business with Great Distinction in 1976 and completed his MBA in Finance and Accounting on the Academic Achievement List in 1983. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. After two years Wendy moved from Al Jazeera and joined al khaliji, a start up bank, which successfully acquired BLC Bank within France and four locations within UAE within the first twelve months of its operation. As an active member of GE’s global government relations team, Bob has worked closely with GE’s Washington office and with the company’s government relations specialists in countries around the world. His work has involved advocacy in government policy, legislation and regulations; securing government support for capital investments, training, and R&D; and supporting sales to governments and government agencies. He has worked closely with all the GE businesses – Energy, Healthcare, Aviation, Capital, and the rest.

During his career at GE, Bob has been able to take advantage of many of the executive leadership programs for which the company is justifiably admired. He spent a month in Southeast Asia on the Business Management Course and has taken various courses related to Work-out, change acceleration, diversity management, and Six Sigma.

Bob has been a valued member of business and community organizations – as a Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the United Way, the Canadian Foundation for Chinese Heritage Preservation, and the Eye Research Institute of Canada. Prior to retiring in 2007, Marc served as Senior Executive VP Human Resources NBC Universal (2004-07). Other senior roles included Senior VP Human Resources NBC (2003-04), Senior VP Human Resources GE Capital (1999-02) and VP and General Manager Human Resources GE Medical Systems (1993-99). From 2002-2003 Marc served as GE’s first VP of Corporate Citizenship and President of the GE Foundation. Other senior positions include Manager Executive Consulting and head of GE International Human Resources.

Marc led a number of acquisition due diligences and integrations while working in GE Capital and Medical Systems, and played a significant leadership role in the integration of NBC’s acquisition of Vivendi Universal Entertainment.

After leaving GE, Marc started up his own consulting company, Executive Development Initiatives, focusing on executive assessment and coaching, organizational development and structuring and succession planning processes.

Marc is a graduate of Binghamton University with a BA in History and MA in Organizational Behavior. Since 1995, Anne worked in GE Capital, initially overseeing Human Resource activities for a number of GE Capital businesses worldwide, with primary emphasis on the Consumer and Commercial Business segments during a period of acquisitions and organic growth. In 1998, Anne focused on GE Capital’s rapid growth in Japan with responsibility for due diligence oversight, acquisition integration and leadership assessment and staffing. From 1998 to mid 1999, GE Capital’s employment in Japan grew from approximately 250 to 14,000 and she was subsequently promoted as head of GE’s HR operation for all of Asia and relocated to Tokyo. In December 2002, Anne was promoted to Vice President-Human Resources for the newly created GE Consumer Finance, and was appointed a GE Company Officer. In March 2006, family and personal desires required her to return to Hawaii and she was appointed as Consultant-Executive Development with primary focus on the development of GE’s Asian leaders. Anne retired from GE in 2009.
